Disaster Relief for Texas

As a Salvation Army first responder, Midwest Food Bank is answering the call to send disaster relief food boxes to Texas. By the end of Hurricane Harvey, up to 100 inches of rain is possible. Already over 30,000 people are seeking temporary shelter.

The extreme and widespread damage call for long term relief efforts.

The weather was perfect for staying cool but made the clay targets a bit more challenging for the 185 shooters to hit.

Healthy foods are priority at MFB


Okay, we admit it!  Fresh produce and healthy dairy options are not always the norm here at Midwest Food Bank.  Since MFB relies mostly on donated foods, we don’t see high quality and nutritious produce often enough even though we desperately seek out these special loads.

Augie Students Rock!

We are blessed to have students from Augustana College join other community volunteers this month to load and pack trucks, vans, or cars with food at our Quad City distribution. 


Thanks to these Augie students and all our volunteers for their hard work!  Without them, we couldn’t reach as many people in Western Illinois and Easter Iowa.
